Mari Anne has a life full of experiences and hobbies, one would say her hobby, is collecting hobbies! Her first hobby started with her love for horses at a young age. She married her first husband, had two little girls, in a log cabin and barn where she raised her kids and her horses. She showed and bred horses for about 15 years when life had something else in store. While her girls were becoming young women, she met her second husband Dave, a teacher and also a father of two , and blended their families becoming a household of six. Once four teenagers were running around their new home, Mari Anne and Dave welcomed their own baby girl into the world. Now with five kids, four being teens and one a newborn, Mari Annes' role of "Super Mom" quickly took center stage.
However her wonderfully busy life, didn't stop Mari Anne from filling the limited space with her own passions. When her youngest was little, she fell in love with oil painting and landscapes, and enjoyed the teachings of Bob Ross while chasing around a toddler. Around the year 2000, after losing their family pet pug Hooch, Dave and Mari Anne started a journey they could have never imagined AGAIN. Harley the pug came onto the scene, for their then 10 year old daughter Chelsea, to start showing. Harley the Pug sparked a 25 year long journey of Mari Anne's Kennel "Chelsea Pugs". She has spent the last 25 years breeding the ultimate standard in pugs, showing around the country winning esteemed awards, such as Westminster. She has grown a "pug" family that has traveled the world together. Dave and Mari Anne's five kids, have turned into five adults, making Dave and Mari Anne gandparents to five , and great grandparents to another five. Over the years Mari Anne has never stopped creating, never stopped painting, and never stopped embracing the beauty of the world.
Now in her 70's Mari Anne's hobbies have grown; from spending time in her beautiful yard, her still very present pugs, her indoor plant collection, her over whelming love for painting, and of course her loving family that grows year to year.
Mari Anne's life of unexpected beautiful twists and turns is reflected in her artwork. Much like life, once the paint hits the canvas, you're never quite sure how it will turn out, but one thing you can count on, is something beautiful will be left behind.
